When I build my self esteem, I lessen codependence and free myself to enjoy my world more. I no longer seek approval from anyone other than myself. I listen to others from a different perspective. It's a perspective of learning and understanding instead of a perspective of approval seeking and pleasing others. Doesn't that sound much healthier?
